General News: CCMS Musicians Are Top-Rated

Cornwall Central Middle School musicians were a big hit when they attended the 2009 Hi-Notes Music Festival in New Jersey on June 5.
The 7th and 8th grade band, chorus and orchestra all walked away with top ratings in the competition in which judges reviewed every aspect of their performances, from how the groups entered the stage to their musical arrangements and performances.
The 7/8 Band under the direction of Steve Kessler and the 7/8 Chorus under the direction of Valerie Ransbottom received the top “Superior” rating from the judges. The Orchestra, under the direction of Rachel Frazier received an "Excellent" rating. Fans of the young musicians can hear the CCMS Jazz Band perform in the village bandstand on Tuesday night.
