Police Blotter: Police Blotter 9/14-16

Thursday, September 14

7:42 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Homeland Avenue where a moving vehicle hit a parked car, causing damage but no injuries.

2: 37 p.m. Police respond to a medical call on Idlewild Avenue and find a man with a black eye and cut above the eye, who said he had not taken his medication. The man is taken to the hospital emergency room by ambulance. The police find his car with the engine running, turn the engine off, and lock it up.

5:17 p.m. Police are called to Hudson Street where they te the juveniles sitting on the stoop not to block the doctor’s door.

8:54 p.m. Police respond to a report of possible trespassing at a residence on Deer Hill Road and find that the wind had blown open an unlocked door and the lights had possibly been left on.

Friday, September 15

Morning. A witness called police to report a reckless driver on Lafayette Street. Police locate the vehicle and warned the driver.

6:09 p.m. Police respond to a complaint of a loud party on Second Avenue and ask the residents to turn the music down.

9:11 p.m. Police respond to an accident on Hudson Street involving one car.

9:36 p.m. Police receive a report from the DB Mart that a teenage girl had just stolen two bags of cookies. The girl is questioned and says that she took the cookies but then gave them back. The owner of the mart says he wanted to press charges against the girl and her mother is called to the police station. At that time, the owner says he doesn’t want to press charges but that he doesn’t want the girl in his store again.

Saturday, September 16

12:13 a.m. Police respond to complaint of a loud conversation on Idlewild Avenue and tell a group of juveniles there to move along.

7:58 a.m. A lost pocketbook with a drivers license permit and cell phone in it are brought into the station and the apparent owner is called to retrieve it.

12:20 p.m. Police are called to Academy Avenue with a report of a loud party. Officer reports that the music isn’t not that loud and that the noise ordinance goes into effect at 10 p.m.

1:12 p.m. Police receive a report of a landscape vehicle parked in the roadway on Mountain Road. The owner moves it.

3:12 p.m. Police are called to Academy Avenue for a report of a suspicious vehicle in a residential driveway. Once there, the complainant realizes it belongs to a friend of her son’s.

3:20 p.m. Police tell a group of juveniles on elementary school property to move along.

4:25 p.m. Paul Downs, 54, of Accord, N.Y., is ticketed for driving 71 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 9W.

5:20 p.m. Police tell a group of juveniles on Hudson Street to move along.

6:13 p.m. Police receive a report from a Duncan Avenue resident of criminal mischief/littering behind her home. The homeowner is concerned that the area is being used as a hangout by local youths and requests patrols in the area.

7:12 p.m. Police respond to a report of fireworks exploding on Shore Road and find the noise is from duck hunters on the Hudson River.

10:04 p.m. Police respond to a complaint from an employee of Cumberland Farms about two females arguing at the store. Police talk to one of the females then tell juveniles to move along.
