The town and the village are going mano-a-mano on Saturday to win the trophy in the 2nd annual Greater Cornwall Art Walk Off. Earlier this week, Cornwall supervisor Kevin Quigley caught the spirit of the Walk Off as he tried to wrest the trophy from Cornwall-on-Hudson clerk Jeanne Mahoney. Last year, the village won the trophy, which was created by John Olley of BBE Designs.
The Art Walk Off runs from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and it requires that people sign up when they visit a business where art is currently on display. At the end of the day, judges will determine if more people from the village or the town visited businesses that day and the trophy will be awarded to the municipality with the most visitors.
Art Walk organizers say that the Walk-Off is a great way to get local residents out to enjoy the work of local artists and explore the shops and businesses along the two-mile route from Cornwall Plaza to Storm King Adventure Tours on Hudson Street in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
If you want to enter the competition, you may pick up a guide at any of the participating businesses or click here for a listing.
