At 11:15 a.m., police ticket Daniel Vethof, 18, of Seaville, N.J., for a noisy muffler.
At 8:24 p.m., police respond to a report of a large number of juveniles at Duncan Avenue and Hudson Street, where one youth says he was pushed and shoved in an argument with an male he didn't know. Twenty minutes later police find juveniles from the previous incident and discover one is a runaway from the Children's Home of Kingston, which is contacted to come and pick up the youth.
At 9:28 p.m., police disperse a group of disorderly juveniles at Cumberland Farms.
Saturday, August 25
At 1:15 p.m., police ticket a car for parking without a permit at the riverfront.
At 6:00 p.m., police investigate a report from a woman who said she honked her car horn at skateboarders in the middle of Avenue A and one boy responded with obscenities and chased after her car. Police spoke with a skateboarder matching the description the woman had given and the boy admitted he had gotten into an argument with a woman. Police escort the boy home to his father.
At 6:27 p.m., police investigate a report of a hit-and-run accident on Grandview Street and speak with the owner of the car that hit a parked car minutes earlier. The man who left the scene, Robert Turso, 30, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, told police that the parked car was "more than halfway in the road and he got mad after hitting the vehicle." An accident report was filed.
At 8:41 p.m., police advise two youths playing paintball at Holtz Lane and Academy Aevnue to 'play in their own yards."
