General News: Village Police Chief Hospitalized
May 18, 2009
Cornwall-on-Hudson police chief Charles Williams was released from St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital on Sunday after being hospitalized for four days to treat an infection.
Chief Williams said in a phone interview from his hospital bed on Saturday that his doctor began treating him for the flu when he first developed a headache and fever last weekend. The treatment was ineffective and by Thursday chief Williams was admitted to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital on Laurel Avenue.
Doctors now believe the infection is the result of a spider or tick bite, according to Williams.
