Police Blotter: Police Blotter 7/20-23

Thursday

At 5:42 p.m. police received a report that a bottle had been broken on the lawn at 26 Stillman Avenue and that four males were harassing neighbors about the clean-up. The youths reportedly used abusive language and committed an indecent act. A police officer looked for the young males in the Weeks Estate area but they apparently broke into two groups. Town of Cornwall police assisted in locating two of the suspects who were questioned and released to their guardians.

Friday

Shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of harassment by a tenant at 21 Idlewild Avenue against the superintendant of that building.
Tenant faces eviction and super said he has faced death threats from the suspect.

Between 10:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. (Saturday morning), the police told a group of juveniles in the area of the elementary school, gazebo, and parking lot, to move along three times. Police also responded to a report that water balloons were being thrown from a vehicle on Route 218. No evidence found.

Saturday

At 2:45 p.m. police responded to a report that a car hit a deer on Hudson Street, near the Walden Savings Bank. The car was damaged on the front end and the deer was injured. Police put down the deer.

At 6:28p.m. police received a report of a tree blocking the road at 35 Boulevard. DPW removed the tree.

At 7:57 p.m. police received a report of underage males attempting to buy beer at Cumberland Farms store.

At 9:48 p.m. police received a report that a group of juveniles had knocked on the door of a residence on Deer Hill Road. The police officer found the youths in a car and they said they were looking for a "Haunted Asylum" that was rumored to be in the area. SUbjects were advised to move on.

Sunday

Six parking tickets were issued between 7 and 7:30 p.m.


A group of juveniles at 259 Hudson Street were told to move along at 8:35 p.m.
