Police Blotter: Police Blotter 7/17-7/20

Monday, July 17

7:50 a.m.
Police receive a report that a hit-and-run accident damaged a car parked at 241 Hudson Street. Police report that an unknown vehicle knocked off the side mirror of the car, denting the door and scratching the hood.

10:45 a.m.
Police told a group of juveniles skateboarding in the village bandstand to move along.

5:04 p.m.
Police responded to a call to assist EMS at 5 Maple Ave. Woman was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with apparent broken ankle after she fell down the stairs when her “flip flop” got caught.

7:23 p.m.
Police told people to move along from Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School property.


Tuesday, July 18

4:08 p.m.
Police responded to a complaint from the Grail House on Duncan Avenue that a group of juveniles was in the area breaking bottles. A check of Duncan Trails and the Boulevard area didn’t find anyone.

7:31 p.m.
Police received two reports of wires/limbs down. One on Mountain Road was reported to be blocking the road. In a second case, on Cherry Avenue, a tree limb with wires was found on a man’s truck.


Wednesday, July 19

7:56 p.m.
Police advised a group of three female and nine male teens congregating in the municipal parking lot to maintain restraint.

8;00 p.m.
Police told a group of juveniles in the Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School area to move along.

8:39 p.m.
Police investigated a noise complaint at 359 Hudson St. regarding Little League All-Star vehicles honking their horns and driving recklessly through the village, with kids leaning out of the windows, heads through the sunroof and youths standing in the bed of a pick up truck. Complainant says she has seen the vehicles swerving and crossing the yellow line.

8:55 p.m.
Police told a group of juveniles at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School to move along.

10:11 p.m.
Police reported disorderly conduct at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School.

11:57 p.m.
Police responded to a report of a fight in progress at Hudson Street and Willis Avenue. After checking the area, including Weeks Avenue, and talking to juveniles in the area, no evidence of a fight was found.

Thursday, July 20, 2006

1:09 a.m.
Police found nothing following a report of suspicious activity at 201 Hudson Street.

7:41 a.m.
Police received a report that a man was being harassed by his brother while sitting outside the Hudson Street Cafe.

1:50 p.m.
A tree-cutting crew at Maple Avenue and Hudson Street complained that skateboarders are getting too close to the wood chipper and causing a hazard by going out into the road. Skateboarders were asked to leave the area.

9:11 p.m.
Police moved along a group of juveniles at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School.

10:50 p.m.
Police investigate a report of a fight expected to occur at the gazebo between Newburgh and Cornwall youths. No evidence found.
