Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Blotter

Sunday, May 3
12:26 a.m.  Police charge a 16-year-old male from New Windsor with unlawful possession of alcohol after he was stopped with several other youths while walking on Mountain Road and showed police three Budweisers and two Coors Light beers in his backpack.

2:07 a.m.  Police investigate the theft of electronic items from an unlocked vehicle parked on Grand View Avenue.

8:00 a.m.  Police issue a ticket to a vehicle parked in a no parking zone on Hudson Street..

9:45 a.m.  Police investigate an attempted larceny from an unlocked vehicle parked on Wilson Road.

10:05 a.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to a vehicle parked on Maple Avenue Extension.


Monday, May 4
7:02 a.m.  Police respond to a fire in the deep fat fryer in the kitchen of Market-on-Hudson along with fire department.

5:47-6:01 p.m.  Police issue parking tickets to three vehicles at the riverfront.


Tuesday, May 5
10:45 p.m.  Police take a report of harassing phone calls made by someone who has an order of protection against her.

Wednesday, May 6
6:05 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a black bear on the NYMA campus and chase the bear out of the village, down to the river, and into the woods below the yacht club.

8:35 p.m.  Police dispatch an injured possum in the roadway on River Avenue.


Thursday, May 7
5:42 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket to a 19-year-old male driver from Cornwall on Dock Hill Road.


Friday, May 8
12:46 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall-on-Hudson elementary school for a seven-year-old who fell and broke his arm while playing on swings.  Covac transports youth to St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh.

6:02 p.m.  Police respond to a complaint of juveniles making noise in Dr. Stein’s parking lot on Hudson Street and advise them to leave.

9:32 p.m.  Police respond to a hit-and-run accident on Duncan Avenue in which a parked vehicle was damaged by a passing vehicle that sideswiped it and damaged the entire left side.


Saturday, May 9
12:40 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a woman who said a small dog ran out into the street on Payson Road and nipped her lower leg.  The owner of the dog tells police the dog ran out the door accidentally and she apologized.

2:50 p.m.  Police respond to  Cumberland Farms for a report of a juvenile in a red shirt who took a candy bar while inside the store with other kids.  No matching descriptions in the area.

2:58 p.m.  Police respond to the municipal parking lot for a report by a driver who says she was backing up and struck a Ford Escape, causing extremely minor damage.

7:50 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Hudson Street to a 19-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson.
