To the Editor
It was cold and windy, but we did it.
Members of the Cornwall Conservation Advisory Committee (CCAC) held their April 4th clean up, with the help of Joe Gross and Mary Beth Greene Krafft, as well as two girls from Willow Avenue who happened along and Sally Faith Dorfman's kids.
We scoured the riverfront with the blessings of the Village. Our scheduled large clean up on Old Storm King Highway was postponed as we wait for our preliminary recognition of the CCAC's Adopt-a-Highway designation in the 1.8 mile stretch from the village gates of Route 218 to the Cornwall town line. The town has approved the designation with certain guidelines outlined by the Town and the DOT.
The April 4th clean up was supposed to be a big community effort but was delayed as the Town pondered the programs liabilities and other concerns. Hopefully we will be embraced by the DOT and approved and trained, then will be able to move forward with our clean-ups that will be scheduled four times a year.
