General News: Water Problem Not a Health Threat

Some Customers of the Corwnall-on-Hudson water department have been reporting discolored water coming in their taps today and water department chief Bob June wants customers to know that the water has been tested and poses no threat to people’s health.
June said his department started getting calls about the discoloration this morning and that he tracked the problem down to two pipes that haven’t been in full service for years and that are now seeing a lot of action as the result of the full operation of the Black Rock water filter plant.
He advises customers to run the water in their faucet for a few minutes until the water turns clear. He also said that the problem should be cleared up within the next few days.
