To the Editor,
We strongly support the election of Joe Gross for a second term as mayor of the Village. We have known Joe for decades. He has worked as a contractor on our home many times, expanding our kitchen, rebuilding our side porch, etc. The work has always been of the highest quality, and Joe has always been diligent, reliable, honest and fair.
In our opinion, this is the same way he has conducted himself as Mayor. He has been passionately committed to fiscal responsibility in these tough times, keeping the budget under control and reducing Village debt, often in the face of highly vocal opposition. However, he has consistently stuck to his principles and has done what he thought was right, even though not always popular.
Also, he has been flexible when receiving feedback, for example regarding the recycling schedule. His style of opening the doors of government to allow transparency is a refreshing change from the past.
As a life long resident, Joe always keeps the best interest of the long term quality of Village life in mind and governs accordingly. Let's re-elect Joe so that he can continue to work for us and the Village.
Sincerely,
Warren and Mary Mumford
