Sunday, February 22
9:27 a.m. Police issue a ticket to a driver on Mill Street driving 48 mph in a 30 mph zone.
2:28 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 that occurred when a driver swerved to miss a deer and hit the guardrail.
Monday, February 23
5:46 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Angola Road.
7:30 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.
11:00 p.m. Police charge 37-year-old Mario Hernandez, of Houston, Tx., with driving with a suspended license.
11:57 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Mill Street.
Tuesday, February 24
12:24 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Route 32.
1:51 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Route 32.
7:51 a.m. Police respond to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident on Angola Road.
9:32 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 62 mph in a 40 mph zone on Angola Road.
9:40 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 61 mph in a 40 mph zone on Angola Road.
12:13 p.m. Police respond to a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident with minor damage on Quaker Avenue.
10:57 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 57 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 94.
11:04 p.m. Police issue two traffic tickets to a driver on Route 94.
11:49 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 94.
Wednesday, February 25
12:29 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a driver on Route 94.
11:47 a.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 94.
12:37 p.m. Police take a report of criminal mischief committed on a vehicle parked overnight on Landmark Drive.
2:54 p.m. Police investigate a report of a vehicle that was broken into and a radar detector and boom box with large speakers taken while it was parked on Benedict Lane. A witness saw the crime and a 17-year-old Cornwall male was subsequently arrested. (See story)
10:39 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone on Quaker Avenue.
Thursday, February 26
9:04 p.m. Police respond to a call from a woman on Mailler Avenue who says that when she was putting her kids on the bus that the electrical box outside the neighbor’s residence had sparks coming out from it and then she saw smoke as well. She knocked on the front and back door of the house with no answer. Fire and police department respond and find arcing wires on the roof and an active structure fire.
8:45 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a vehicle on Forge Hill Road.
Friday, February 27
8:53 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 45 mph in a 25 mph school zone on Route 218.
8:59 a.m. Police issue a ticket for disobeying a stop sign after an officer observed a driver roll past the stop sign on Main Street and Academy Avenue.
10:31 a.m. Police respond to assist a mentally disturbed patient and transport subject to the Cornwall hospital.
12:56 p.m. Police take a report of a minor traffic accident involving the seniors’ bus.
3:02 p.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker to a driver on Quaker Avenue.
4:49 p.m. Police respond to a fight in which a male teenager is choking a female teenager with approximately 12 teenagers standing by in Cornwall Plaza. Subjects involved report that they were horse playing and are advised against loitering.
10:32-11:02 p.m. Police issue three traffic tickets to three drivers on Route 94.
Saturday, February 28
4:09 a.m. Police respond to a Cornwall hospital to assist with a disorderly patient who refuses to leave the emergency room.
9:08 a.m. Police assist village police with a domestic dispute.
12:58 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Harold Avenue in which a parked car was hit by another vehicle.
3:31 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32.
6:50 p.m. Police respond to a complaint that someone had driven over the lawn of a residence on Academy Avenue causing large and deep ruts in the grass.
Sunday, March 1, 2009
6:14 a.m. Police respond to Route 9W and Old West Point Road for a single vehicle accident in which the vehicle hit the median. No injuries. The driver is ticketed for driving without a license.
9:07 a.m. Police take a report from a subject who says a bottle was thrown at his vehicle as he left Castaways.
9:40 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 49 mph in a 30 mph zone on Taylor Road.
3:40 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to driver on Route 9W.
7:32 p.m. Police charge 28-year-old Arianne Feliciano of New Windsor with driving with a suspended license and with speeding on Route 32.
