Students display the Valentine?s Day cards they made for St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital patients. |
February 17, 2009
Students at Cornwall Elementary School’s after-school program put their hearts into a Valentine’s Day project to lift the spirits of patients at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH).
Last week dozens of patients at SLCH in Newburgh received 60 Valentine’s Day cards handmade by the students.
SLCH Community Relations Specialist Lucia Lee said, “The hospital was delighted to receive these handcrafted cards, which lifted the spirits of patients who could not be home with their loved ones on Valentine’s Day.”
The multicolored cards, which featured drawings of hearts and sunny days, lit up the faces of patients throughout the hospital.
