Letter to the Editor:
Having a vision is a wonderful thing, however one must also have the ability to complete the tasks required in order to make a vision reality. Those currently in charge of the village have the vision but not the necessary background and qualifications to see it through financially as well as compassionately. Village tax payers are looking for change but want to be heard not just over ruled when voicing legitimate concerns regarding the safety and financial welfare of the people. Over the last several months, Mark Edsall has demonstrated his willingness to think independently, consider the critical issues facing the Village, and speak his mind even when that position may differ from the majority of the Board.
I urge everyone to consider the candidates running for office and seriously think about the need for change in a more positive direction. Peter X. Neuman (Mayor), Mark Edsall (Trustee) and Doug Vatter (Trustee) are all members of the community who have proven themselves as leaders. They all possess the business minds needed to carry us into the future. Know that you will be heard and treated as an individual whose role in the community counts no matter how big or small. They will take the time to thoroughly research an idea before throwing it out to the people or rejecting it. They have the qualities needed to move Cornwall-on-Hudson forward in a more united way.
Sincerely,
Susan Armitage
