Monday, January 26
11:00 a.m. Police issue tickets for driving a vehicle with an expired registration and with a suspended license during a road check point on Route 9W.

11:09 a.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker on a vehicle on Route 9W.

11:46 a.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired registration to a vehicle on Route 9W.

1:31 p.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker to a vehicle on Route 94.

6:45 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.

7:25 p.m. Police respond to a gas leak from a stove pilot at a residence and assist homeowner.


Tuesday, January 27
9:15 a.m. Police make a traffic stop and arrest the driver, 43-year-old Joy Johnson, of Newburgh, on an outstanding bench warrant.

2:04 p.m. Police issue a ticket to driver going the wrong direction on Torrey Lane.

3:47 p.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker to a driver on Quaker Avenue.

5:14 p.m. Police charge 24-year-old Christopher Timmons, of Cornwall, with driving with a suspended license and driving with an expired inspection sticker and expired insurance.

9:20-9:55 p.m. Police issue two traffic tickets to drivers on Quaker Avenue.


Wednesday, January 28
11:38 a.m. Police assist while a van is towed from a ditch on Route 32.

2:54 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which the driver slid off the roadway on Route 9W and struck a guardrail.

3:10 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which the driver slid off the roadway on Route 9W and struck a guardrail.

6:00 p.m. Police charge Wilbur Grant, 48, of Newburgh, with driving with a suspended license and with crossing a highway divider.

7:49 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94 where the roadway was a sheet of ice.

Thursday, January 29
7:55 a.m. Police assist subject with a vehicle lock out and check his license, which is suspended. Subject admitted to operating the vehicle and is ticketed.

9:43 a.m. Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident with no injuries on the icy entrance ramp from Angola Road to Route 9W.

10:39 a.m. Police discover graffiti on the inside tunnel of the southbound Route 9W and Academy Avenue overpass. The red and yellow graffiti appeared to spell out an illegible street name and the message “We own you” and the letter “B.”

11:21 a.m. Police respond to a two-car accident at Quaker Avenue and the ramp from Route 9W.

5:25 p.m. Police respond to a report of a vehicle off the roadway on Route 32.

7:37 p.m. Police respond to a report of a vehicle off the roadway on Route 9W.


Friday, January 30
3:39 a.m. Police respond to Cornwall hospital ER for a report of a man who came in with a stab wound in the head he said he received in Newburgh. Case turned over to Newburgh police.

7:19 a.m. Police respond to a one car rollover on Route 9W in which the driver was uninjured.

7:38 a.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident in Chadeayne Circle.

12:23 p.m. Police investigate a report of resident’s identity theft and fraudulent charges to an account.

3:22 p.m. Police respond with fire department to a report of smoke in a residence and find a melted plastic knob on top of a heater caused the odor.

5:06 p.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker to a vehicle at the train station.

8:50 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 65 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 94.


Saturday, January 31
7:26 a.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker.

10:04 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W.

3:10 p.m. Police respond to a mail carrier’s complaint about a dog that had attacked him earlier now on the loose.

9:39 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving with a suspended license on Main Street.


February 1, 2009
1:15 a.m. Police arrest Tina Izzo on a bench warrant.

2:59 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 50 mph in a 40 mph zone.

10:00 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 73 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 94.

10:40 a.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker.

5:34 p.m. Police assist a trailer truck that got struck trying to turn around at NYMA.

6:12 p.m. Police respond to a report of a missing 17-year-old girl who may have gone to Newburgh.
