General News: Tax Return Assistance Available
January 26, 2009
Orange County, in conjunction with Orange Works, will once again offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assist (VITA) program at all three employment centers this year.
Orange Works is celebrating its fifth year of providing this service to low-income families and individuals who may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit. Free preparation of tax returns for those who may not be able to afford assistance with filing is only one of the many services Orange Works has to offer. Job search services, career counseling, resource room accessibility and other supports are also available.
To make an appointment please call one of our below locations. Each center has morning and afternoon hours offered weekdays, Monday through Friday.
Newburgh 568-5092
Middletown 346-1287
Port Jervis 858-1455
VITA sites and services are coordinated by the Internal Revenue Service. Orange Works is a collaborative VITA partner with Employment & Training Administration and the Orange County Department of Social Services.
