Dear Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to express my desire to serve my community as a Village Trustee for Cornwall-on-Hudson.
For those of you who know me, you understand my passion for our Village and my continued efforts to work to ensure the quality of life we share is not compromised.
For those who I have yet to meet, my work as a member of the Cornwall Historical Society, and service as President, has provided me with a unique view of how our past has enriched us and how we can use the lessons of our founders for the benefit of our future.
In the aftermath of the recent historical inauguration of our 44th President, we must remember that Village government is the backbone of our legislative process, the closest to the people in our great Democracy, and our voices resonate throughout our town, county, state and federal levels.
As an active Village resident, I have been involved with many community activities, boards, programs, and issues. I seek the Office of Village Trustee, not to run against others, but to bring my community involvement to a higher level and to work to meet the challenges we as a community face, not only today, but to prepare us for tomorrow.
Maryanne Rose O’Dell
