General News: Free Mortgage Counseling

Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana and Tom Lane, Director of the Orange County Office of Community Development, want to advise Orange County residents who are in danger of losing their homes through foreclosure that they can receive free counseling from HUD certified agencies.
“As the economic crisis continues it is important that government, wherever practicable, look for new and innovative ways to assist our constituents,” Diana said. “We believe that this program is one more way for Orange County residents to explore all of the options currently available to deal with the realities of this economy.”
The Orange County Office of Community Development is collaborating with Hudson River Housing, Inc. to provide these services at 18 Seward Avenue, Middletown. Hudson River Housing, Inc. will meet with property owners to develop a strategy to avert foreclosure.
