New York State residents will no longer receive tax forms in the mail and locally people are concerned about how to get a copy of the 2008 tax forms.
State assembly member Nancy Calhoun’s office has been flooded with calls about the change, which was adopted to save money by the cash-strapped state government.
The tax forms are available online at www.tax.state.ny.us, where they can be downloaded and printed, and will become available soon at public libraries.
But according to Calhoun’s office, people who aren’t computer savvy and who may spend the winter out-of-state are worried about getting their state tax forms.
Calhoun says that anyone who needs assistance can call the state tax office at 518-457-5431 or 800-462-8100.
