Monday, December 22
7:36 a.m.  Police assist a box truck that had slid into the ditch on Orrs Mills Road.

10:39 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a male standing outside his car yelling at traffic on Route 32 and find the man’s battery had died.

11:15 a.m.  Police assist a driver who says her engine shut off and she is awaiting her husband to assist.  

1:07 p.m.  Police assist with traffic in town of Highlands motor vehicle roll-over on Route 9W.

2:37 p.m.  Police respond to a minor motor vehicle on Route 9W.

3:03 p.m.  Police respond to Main Street where a man says the window on his vehicle was broken while parked during the storm.

5:52 p.m.  Police assist two tractor trailers get towed from snow banks on Industry Drive off Route 32.

10:14 p.m.   Police assist a vehicle that went off the roadway on Angola Road and got stuck in a ditch.

11:23 p.m.  Police arrest a 58-year-old male at Cornwall hospital and charge him with third-degree assault after he struck a nurse during discharge.


Tuesday, December 23
6:06 a.m.  Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Taylor Road.

7:17 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a car into guardrail.

9:30 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a 45-year-old female who possibly overdosed on anti-depressants and alcohol and COVAC transports her to the hospital.


Wednesday, December 24
3:32 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a car into a guardrail on I-87; no injuries.

4:47 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a car that went into a snow bank on Firth Street and, as the driver was pushing the car out, she became locked out.

9:00 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident that occurred when a car spun out on the ice on Route 9W.

10:55 a.m.  Police assist a car that was stuck in a ditch on Route 94.

11:54 a.m.  Police respond to a complaint and ticket a vehicle parked in a handicap spot without a valid permit at 55 Quaker Avenue.

12:01 p.m.  Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Laurel Avenue; no injuries.

9:22 p.m.  Police assist a vehicle that had driven into a ditch on Orrs Mills Road.

11:02 p.m.   Police assist a vehicle in the ditch on Otterkill Road.


Thursday, December 25
10:00 a.m.  Police respond to the Canterbury Brook Inn after it was discovered that a burglary had occurred there during the night.  Suspects forced entry through a back door and stole a container of change valued at $200.  Investigation continuing.

11:47 a.m.  Police assist a woman experiencing psychiatric problems and she is voluntary transported to Cornwall hospital.

2:42 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident that occurred when a car backed into a parked vehicle.


Friday, December 26
12:40 p.m.  Police charge 56-yar-old Michael Calabrese, of Cornwall, with second-degree harassment of a fellow resident of 76 Willow Avenue.

1:56 p.m.  Police rspond to a report of a two car motor vehicle accident with injuries on Quaker Avenue.

5:51 p.m.  After a complaint, police advise skateboarders at Cornwall plaza.

9:54 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32.

11:46 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 66 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W.

5:28 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a broken window on a shed that may have been caused by a chunk of ice or by a former tenant.

5:49 p.m.  Police arrest Christine Solomon on a warrant from the City of Newburgh.


Saturday, December 27
1:45 p.m.  Police charge N.M. Steinard, 24, of Cornwall, with leaving the scene of an accident after he struck a street sign with the vehicle he was driving and also charge him with driving without a license, with a suspended registration and without insurance.


Sunday, December 28
1:01 p.m.  Police investigate signs that paint balls were shot at the modular building behind Willow Avenue Elementary school.

4:08 p.m.  Police investigate a report that an iceball was thrown at a car on Willow Avenue, entering the window and hitting the driver in the face.  Police check the area with no results.
