From the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum
The Young Naturalist Pre-K classes at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum decided to prepare a holiday gift to help those who help wildlife. So, this month, the Young Naturalists and their parents prepared baskets of donated blankets, towels, gloves, food, bandages, heating pads and animal carriers for NYS Licensed Wildlife rehabilitators in our area.
When the children were ready to present their gifts, Kim Keller, DVM and a New York State Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator, visited the class and explained to the children and their parents how their donated items would help the injured animals.
The Young Naturalist Pre-K Program runs from September to June for three and four year olds. An open house for the 2009-10 will be held February 11th from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Outdoor Discovery Center, for further information, call 845-534-5506, ext. 204.
