General News: Car Drives Through Fence at School

A car drove through a fence behind Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary school on Saturday morning after its transmission stuck in reverse, the driver said.
Cornwall-on-Hudson police were called to the scene at 9:45 a.m. and Officer Seth Armstrong saw the red Dodge Avenger on the soccer field. The vehicle, which been parked behind the school's gym, traveled through the fence and down a steep wall before coming to rest in the field, according to the officer’s report.
The woman driving the car said that the transmission got stuck in reverse and that she had hit the gas and was unable to get the car out of reverse.
The driver was accompanied by her son, who was uninjured, in the back seat. The woman complained of back pain and was taken to the hospital by COVAC.
