In a November 19 article about issues in the Cornwall-on-Hudson police department, incorrect figures were reported for the legal costs of negotiating the village’s agreement to join a county-wide records management system. (see story)
The article states that legal fees for negotiating the contract, which was never approved, amounted to $2,200.00. Now, village clerk Jeanne Mahoney reports the actual amount, through September 2008, is $938.05. The discrepancy, Mahoney says, resulted from a discount applied to legal fees by the interim village attorney, the firm of Rider, Weiner & Frankel, PC.
