Police Blotter: November 24-30, 2008

Monday, November 24
9:57 a.m.  Police respond to a store on Quaker Avenue for a report of a perfume items missing after a female with a backpack was seen acting suspicious.   

10:31 a.m.  Police ticket a vehicle in parking lot of a business on Route 9W because the owner wanted the vehicle removed before it snowed.

4:34 p.m.  Police respond to a report of an intoxicated male yelling at other housemates in his residence on Willow Avenue.

5:07 p.m.  Police arrest 52-year-old Miguel Molina, of New Windsor, after police receive a call of a possible intoxicated driver on Route 9W.  An officer stops the vehicle and arrests the driver, Molina, on a felony count of DWI for having a prior conviction.  He is also charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation because his driver had been revoked for DWI.  

6:44 p.m.  Police respond to a report of disorderly adults in a residence on Willow Avenue who had been drinking.


Tuesday, November 25
3:56 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute between two sisters.

4:50 p.m.  Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries on Route 32.

5:03 p.m.  Police respond to a report of an injured deer on the road in the area of Route 94 and Riley Road.

5:34 p.m.  Police respond to a report of an injured deer in the roadway on Route 9W, locate the deer and dispatch it with a single shot.


Wednesday, November 26
8:00 a.m.  Police respond to numerous calls reporting a deer lying in the roadway on Route 9W but do not find the animal.

8:23 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 and Quaker Avenue in which one vehicle rear-ended another.

6:34 p.m.  Police investigate a report of unwanted harassing phone calls received by a 10-year-old girl.

7:20 p.m.  Police charge 26-year-old Ilyana Campos, of Cornwall,  with driving with a suspended license on Route 32.


Thursday, November 27
12:21 a.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Quaker Avenue.

12:56 a.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32.

1:11 a.m.  Police issue three traffic tickets to a driver without a valid license.

4:23 a.m.  Police assist village police with an intoxicated patron of Tom’s Tavern.

2:23 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a man who was bitten on the nose by his own dog, a rotweiler, while the two were playing.


Friday, November 28
9:47 a.m.  Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident on Route 94.

2:53 p.m.  Police respond to a one-car motor vehicle accident on Orrs Mills Road in which the driver may have fallen asleep and driven off the road.

7:26 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a mailbox that had been knocked down on Angola Road, apparently struck by a vehicle.

9:31 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 57 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W.

9:39 p.m.  Police issue a ticket on Route 94.

9:48 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 43 mph in a 30 mph zone on Mailler Avenue.

10:23 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 53 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 32.


Saturday, November 29
1:11 a.m.  Police charge 20-year-old Jordan Gigante, of Cornwall, with driving with a suspended license and speeding on Mill Street.

10:25 a.m.  Police respond to a two-vehicle accident on Main Street.

3:29 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic incident.

6:09 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a home invasion.  (See story)


Sunday. November 30
6:18 a.m.  Police set out flares for rocks and ice in the roadway on Route 218.

10:18 a.m.  Police assist hospital staff with a subject trying to obtain painkillers.

2:02 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W.

6:26 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute.
