General News: Cornwall Youth Football Week 7 & 8

WEEK 7
DIVISION I- GREEN
The Division I Green Team beat Highland Falls 20-0! Jack Strohmeier scored one of the touchdowns and Gene Baybay had two. Danny McTamaney, Matthew Lindenberger, and Charles Rios showed great hustle. Kieran Krieder connected with a 20-yard pass to Robert Murphy. Brendan Gonyo and Ray Fratz did a great job on defense and the rest of the defensive line did a great job holding off Highland Falls.
DIVISION III
The Div 3 Dragons were victorious against Monticello, winning 7-6. Matt Smith rolled out and completed a 35-yard pass to Michael Bartolone who ran it in the end zone to put 6 points on the board. A crucial extra point by Ryan Incognoli led the Dragons to win the game. Mike White caught another great pass by Smith, for a 25-yard gain. Strong defensive plays on the part of Brad Prunier, Justin Prunier and Joe Frank kept the Monticello team to just 6 points. The Dragon’s defensive secondary, Dante Mays and Michael Marshall contributed to the shutdown of Monticello.
WEEK 8
MIGHTY MITES-GREEN
The Green MM Dragons played a great game against the Washingtonville Gator team. Offensive standouts were Ryan Ruiz and Anthony Lomoriello at running backs, and Jake Lynch at Center, who made some great blocks. Michael Incognoli, Greg Moretto, Daniel Leach, Daniel Heffner and Derek Schragg played great defense. Justin Hart, Tim Cartright and Jon Velez provided some great blocking up front. All players played with great enthusiasm and had fun.
DIVISION III
The Div 3 Dragons played a great game against Minisink White. Cornwall’s touchdown came on a long pass from Matt Smith to Mike Bartolone for an outstanding catch to run it into the end zone. Dominique Mays ran the ball back 40 yards for a great kickoff return. The Dragon’s defense was very strong with excellent defensive play by Ryan Incognoli who intercepted a pass. Clayton Kelly made a great one on one open field tackle to return the ball to the Dragons. Peter Cote displayed excellent line defense
