Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department

Thursday, October 23
1:31 a.m.  Police retrieve a backpack that had been left in front of the Dairy Mart.

4:09 p.m.  Police charge 49-year-old Anth Roopchandsigh, of Newburgh, with driving with a revoked driver’s license after he was stopped for speeding on Bayview Avenue.

8:20 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Hudson Street to an 18-year-old male from New Windsor.

9:52 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Duncan Avenue to a 26-year-old male from Cornwall.


Friday, October 24
1:36 a.m.  Police assist town police with an agitated person under the influence of alcohol at the Cornwall hospital emergency room.

11:49 a.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 50-year-old male from Highland Falls.

12:08 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 28-year-old female from Silver Springs, Md.

9:09 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Homeland Avenue to an 18-year-old male from Cornwall.

9:43 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Homeland Avenue to a 17-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson.


Saturday, October 25
3:49 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a tree down on Pine Street and find a limb had fallen and damaged a vehicle.

5:10 p.m.  Police respond to Washington Street for a report of a tree down that broke a telephone pole.  Central Hudson notified and road closed until it could respond.

6:05 p.m.  Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Shore Road in which a driver attempted to avoid the animal, slid on wet leaves, and left the roadway, coming to rest submerged in Moodna Creek.  The occupants were able toe xit the vehicle through the sun roof.
