General News: Orange County Authors Exhibit Available
October 23, 2008
“Empty wall space in office buildings, schools, libraries or town halls can be easily transformed to bring Orange County’s literary history to life,” said Nancy Proyect, President of the Orange County Citizens Foundation.
The Foundation is offering to lend its 2008 traveling exhibit, Read All About It: the Lives and Works of Orange County Authors, to interested parties such as libraries, schools, businesses, historical societies and others. The display’s 22 full color storyboards feature biographies and photos of authors who have called Orange County their “home” as long ago as the 18th century and even today.
Authors range from Gypsy Rose Lee, Mickey Spillane, Emily Post, Stephen Crane, Zane Grey and Noah Webster to modern-day writers Hunter Thompson, Frank Gilroy, Robert Lipsyte and James Patterson. Genres include history, comics, landscape design, fiction, pulp fiction, etiquette, botany, adventure, mystery and more.
To inquire about hosting the traveling exhibit, call Bonnie Neucall at 845-469-9459 or email her at: [email protected].
