Friday, October 3
9:01 a.m. Police investigate a report of a soft top stolen from the roof of a vehicle parked in the owner’s driveway on Route 32.
11:31 a.m. Police respond to a report of two dogs left unattended in a vacant building on Angola Road amid deplorable conditions. The animals were removed.
4:16 p.m. Police issue four tickets with expired inspection stickers to vehicles parked at the Salisbury Mills train station.
4:17 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 50 mph in a 30 mph zone on Quaker Avenue to a 51-year-old male from New Windsor.
4:55 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 61 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W to a 41-year-old female from Beacon.
10:15 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 63 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W to a 52-year-old male from Marlboro.
10:32 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 63 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W to a 38-year-old male from Newburgh.
Saturday, October 4
12:35 a.m. Police move along the occupants of two vehicles parked on Otterkill Road who said they were observing the stars.
12:06 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street where one driver pulled out of a drive and struck a passing vehicle.
3:20 p.m. Police respond to a report of older children harassing younger children and speak with all parties.
8:13 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Quaker Avenue.
8:44 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 62 mph in a 30 mph zone on Quaker Avenue to a 56-year-old female from Cornwall.
10:20 p.m. Police respond to a rollover motor vehicle accident on Angola Road in which the driver suffered face lacerations and is transported to Cornwall hospital.
Sunday, October 5
12:08 a.m. Police issue two tickets on Main Street to an 18-year-old male from Salisbury Mills.
5:44 a.m. Police respond to a noise complain and advise subject to turn down the music.
11:13 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 62 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W to a 49-year-old female from New Windsor.
1:02 p.m. Police respond to Main Street in the area near the Butterhill Day School for a report of a man with a rifle. Officer Orellana, Sgt. Schofield and Sgt. Park check the area on foot and interview a group of men doing maintenance work on Bubba’s Bagel shop who state that they were doing gutter work and one of them was using a pellet rifle to guard against possible squirrel attacks. The subjects, realizing this was a stupid idea, tossed the rifle into the weeds upon arrival of the officers. Subjects are advised to use better judgment and alternate means for dealing with aggressive squirrels.
