General News: Disposal of Electronics Scheduled
October 07, 2008
Do you have an electronic product that you want to throw away? If you live in Cornwall-on-Hudson, you will have the opportunity to toss computer monitors, tvs and other items on Sunday, October 19th and Saturday, October 25th. Residents of the town of Cornwall will probably have to wait until next spring for a similar chance to get rid of their unwanted electronics.
The Cornwall town board Monday night agreed to put off hiring a dumpster for the electronics until the highway department and the board can decide on the best way to pay for it. A 40-foot dumpster costs $875 and town officials want to be sure it is used only by Cornwall residents and are considering whether a disposal fee should also be charged.
The village dumpster will be open to residents from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both days, October 19th and October 25th, at the Department of Public Works at 50 Shore Road. See below for acceptable electronic items.
The pick-up of bulk items in the village and town – a pick up that excludes electronics – will be made on October 20th. In addition, a village-wide yard sale will be held in Cornwall-on-Hudson on October 18th.
