To the Editor:
A recent (Washington Post) piece speaks volumes about the type of people that hail from our small village (click here to read the editorial piece.)
Having worked at West Point for the past seventeen years and proud of the many great men and women I have been fortunate enough to work with that have made sacrifices to better our country and now raising a family in the same village that General David Petraeus was raised in, I found this article of great interest since it speaks volumes about a man that can call Cornwall-on-Hudson "home".
I thought perhaps that your readers/viewers might also enjoy it. I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community and the thought that General Petraeus was raised in the same small village knowing where he has recently been not to mention the impact he has made on the war against terrorism and our Country gives me such a sense of pride!
We need to count our blessings everyday, we need to be grateful to know people like General David Petraeus and to be a part of such a close knit community. Cornwall-on-Hudson is without a doubt a hidden treasure amongst the beautiful Storm King Mountain and the Hudson Valley and I am sure that General Petraeus has not forgotten where his roots are. I know I never will and I will make sure that my children never will.
