Monday, August 25
12:11 a.m. Police respond to a call regarding possible suspects involved in criminal mischief on Curie Road, stop the vehicle, and determine the individuals were not involved in stringing caution tape across the roadway.

6:51 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Riley Road in which the driver swerved to avoid a gopher in the roadway, left the road and hit several small trees and a sign. No injuries.

7:38 a.m. Police respond to a report of criminal mischief at Main Street Cutters in which someone rearranged the letters on the shop’s sign to spell obscenities.

8:36 a.m. Police respond to Cornwall elementary school at Lee Road for graffiti that had been painted on the roof areas.

2:14 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Angola Road to a 19-year-old male from New Windsor.

2:14 p.m. Police arrest Kimberly Haymer on an outstanding warrant for theft of services.

4:40 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 20-year-old male from Mountainville.

10:26 p.m. Police investigate a report of someone breaking glass bottles at the Lee Road elementary school, interview several subjects in the area but do not identify any suspects.

11:43 p.m. Police respond to a hit-and-run accident on an entrance ramp to Route 9W in which the driver of a car said a tractor-trailer struck struck and damaged the side of her car, then drove off.


Tuesday, August 26
9:48-10:43 a.m. Police 14 tickets for expired inspection sticker on vehicles parked at the train station.

9:50 a.m. Police issue a ticket to a 21-year-old male driver for talking on his cell phone while driving on Route 9W.

10:27 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

11:17 a.m. Police take a report of business signs of a floor installer that have been taken from residences where he worked throughout Cornwall.

12:40 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 79 mph in a 55 mph zone on Quaker Avenue to a 39-year-old female from Newburgh.

1:55 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 30-year-old female from Monroe.

2:16 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 94 to a 17-year-old male from Monroe.

3:17 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 19-year-old male from Newburgh.

5:10 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W that occurred when a driver turned right onto Route 9W from Mountain Road and struck a passing vehicle.


Wednesday, August 27
10:16 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 25-year-old male from Monroe for driving 69 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W.

10:53 a.m. Police issue a ticket for driving a motorcycle at 79 mph in a 45 mph zone of Route 9W to a 27-year-old male from Peekskill.

5:51 p.m. Police respond to a report of a suspicious going door-to-door trying to sell furniture from a truck labeled North Carolina Furniture. Salesman is advised to stop and complies.

10:36 p.m. Police respond to a report of a fight in progress on Torrey Lane and find a group of teenagers at the Lemon Building who are advised to move along.


Thursday, August 28
6:49 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Angola Road.

12 noon. A resident of Harold Avenue reports that some lawn statuary had been stolen. Items are located and returned.

4:14 p.m. Police respond to a report of a possible burglary attempt at a residence on Patton Road and determine that the door lock had come loose after some juveniles banged on the door excessively.

6:09 p.m. Police assist with a patient at Cornwall hospital.

11:29 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle on the Angola Road ramp off Route 9W in which the car hit a guardrail.


Friday, August 29
12:40 a.m. Police respond to a complaint of subjects making excessive noise on Torrey Lane and observe a large group of male and female subjects sitting on the front steps of the Lemon Building. Police advise subjects to move along and they comply.

9:17 a.m. Police are flagged down by the owner of Cadet Motel who said that one of her weekly tenants owes money. Officer speaks with the individual who says he has been out of town and he has all intentions of paying.

10:49 a.m. Police issue two tickets, one for driving 78 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W, to a 47-year-old female from New Windsor.

2:00 p.m. Police respond to Cornwall middle school for a report of spent fireworks found on the school’s roof.

2:40 p.m. Police respond an accident on Schofield Lane in which a driver struck a pipe at a work site.

2:23 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute in which a son called the police because he was upset that his mother was telling him what to do. Son is advised against calling 911 for non-emergencies like not getting his own way.

4:40 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 25-year-old female from Newburgh.

4:59 p.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker to a vehicle parked at the train station.


Saturday, August 30
1:58 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 94 to a 22-year-old male from New Windsor.

10:47 a.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Angola Road to 17-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson.

10:50 a.m. Police respond to a report of a man who had fallen off the dam at Route 32 and Orrs Mills Road. Covac attends to the injured party.

7:25 p.m. Police assist Cornwall hospital staff with an intoxicated patient.

7:57 p.m. Police respond to a report of a person screaming obscenities at Cornwall Plaza and speak with a subject who denies bothering anyone.


Sunday, August 31
1:33 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 17-year-old male from Hillsdale.

12:42 p.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Main Street, doing 52 mph in 30 mph zone, to a 35-year-old female from New Windsor.

1:37 p.m. Police advise a man in the town hall parking lot doing jumps on his bmx bicycle and advise him to stop. The man says he has every right to do so and has been doing it for over 20 years. Officer advises the man about liability.

3:05 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a modified exhaust on a vehicle to a 30-year-old male from Wappingers.

7:50 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 46-year-old male from Newburgh.
