Monday, August 18
5:41 a.m.  Police investigate a report of a wheel stolen from a vehicle parked overnight on Algernon Street.

8:34 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which one vehicle rear-ended another on Route 94.

12:26 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at Cornwall Plaza.  

2:13 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 in which one vehicle rear-ended another.

4:20 p.m.  Police respond to a report of an American flag taken from a property on Angola Road overnight on the previous Saturday.

6:00 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street near Prima Pizza.

10:29 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 23-year-old male from Newburgh.

10:37 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 23-year-old male from New Windsor.


Tuesday, August 19
6:13 a.m.  Police investigate a report of a window at J&K Deli on Route 32 that had been broken by a rock thrown at it.

8:40 a.m.  Police take a report of a vehicle that had been damaged in the parking lot of 45 Quaker Avenue.

11:30 a.m.  Police respond to The Stylist Chair salon on Main Street and retrieve the salon’s sign that had been thrown into Canterbury Creek.

4:49 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

5:52 p.m.  Police arrest 52-year-old John Van Houten and charge him with driving while intoxicated, speeding, refusal to take a breath test, and driving with a restricted license.

6:19 p.m.  Police advise a group of teenagers skateboarding in the town hall parking lot to move along.

10:59 p.m.  Police respond to a father-daughter domestic dispute.

Wednesday, August 20
1:46 a.m.  Police pick up an 18-year-old female from Newburgh wanted on a bench warrant in the town of Cornwall.

9:40 a.m.  Police charge 25-year-old Robert McGinnis, of Cornwall, with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs and with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

1:15 p.m.  Police investigate a report of $75 missing from the petty cash drawer at Willow Avenue Elementary School.

8:15 p.m.  Police take possession of an Ipod found at the track at the middle school.

9:38 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall hospital to assist with an out-of-control patient who is already under control on arrival.


Thursday, August 21
12:26 a.m.  Police assist Cornwall hospital with a mental health patient.

9:43 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a garbage can taken from a residence on Center Street two days earlier.

3:12 p.m.  Police investigate a report of an aluminum row boat taken from Beaver Dam Lake.

Friday, August 22
12:59 a.m.  Police charge 19-year-old Jordan Gigante, of Cornwall, with driving with a suspended license, without proof of insurance, and with speeding on Quaker Avenue and Route 32.   His vehicle is impounded.

5:14 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 44-year-old male from the Bronx.

9:48 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 9W to a 23-year-old female from Newburgh.


Saturday, August 23
2:59 a.m.  Police issue two traffic tickets on Route 9W to a 24-year-old male from the Bronx.

11:10 a.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 94 to a 34-year-old male from Washingtonville.

11:17 a.m.  Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection to a 42-year-old female from Monroe.
8:45 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 94 to a 45-year-old female from New Windsor.


Sunday, August 24
12:29 a.m.  Police close Route 218 following a rock slide that caused several boulders and a tree to block the north and southbound lanes of the road.

2:02 a.m.  Police observe that unknown person(s) had glued what appeared to be four faces on the door to the Little League building with the words “Obey” written underneath.

2:26 a.m.  Police respond to Shore Drive for a report of a loud party and advise the people to go inside.

2:34 a.m.  Police respond to Main Street for a report of a window on a Jeep that had just been smashed by a beer bottle.

I see its no longer safe to own a buisness or park a car on main street
