Monday, August 4
10:50 a.m.  police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving a delivery vehicle and a parked car,

1:03 p.m.  Police issue two traffic tickets on Route 9W and Route 218 to a 24-year-old male from Walden.

1:42 p.m.  Police respond to The Canterbury Green Housing construction site for a report of a larceny during the previous weekend in which a person came into the building attempted to enter the contractor’s office by kicking the door.  The suspect(s) then went up to the third floor and took three rolls of wire and tools.

4:46 p.m.  Police issue two traffic tickets on Route 32 to a 27-year-old male driver from Cornwall.

5:17 p.m.  Police arrest 23-year-old Daniel Vitello, of Cornwall, on a warrant from Monroe.

6:57 p.m.  Police respond to a deer vs motor vehicle accident on Route 32.

8:02 p.m.  Police on patrol observe an 18-year-old male driver screeching his tires in the parking lot of the middle school in front of his friends.  The subject is advised.

9:51 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for speeding and for driving a motorcycle with an improper license to a 22-year-old male from Cornwall on Route 32.

10:34 p.m.  Police respond to a report of an assault that occurred at a camp being held at NYMA.  A 13-year-old was assaulted by a 14-year-old.

Tuesday, August 5
2:42 a.m.  Police issue a ticket to a 17-year-old male for driving with a junior’s license and then process him on an outstanding charge of aggravated harassment.

12:43 p.m.   Police assist village police officer Pena with a subject who was handcuffed and yelling and screaming profanities at officer Pena. Subject is charged with a moving violation.

4:01 p.m.  Police respond to Route 9W near Cornwall hospital for a report of an intoxicated female who left the ER.  Not found.

6:40 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 41-year-old male from Highland Mills.

7:12 p.m.  Police charge a 16-year-old male from Newburgh with driving with a suspended license after issuing him a ticket for speeding on Route 32.

7:31 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of harassing phone calls.

9:10 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic dispute between a mother and son.  The mother said the dispute began when she told her son to wash the dishes and he got mad and began throwing the dishes at her feet.   Criminal mischief charges were filled by the victim.


Wednesday, August 6
2:13 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 73 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 9W to a 62-year-old male from Highland.

2:30 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection sticker to a car parked on Route 32.

4:11 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall hospital where security had a video of a suspect ripping off the “Mental Health Unit” sign off the door.  The suspect is contacted and agrees to return the sign.  In return, no charges are filed.

4:32 p.m. Police arrest a 16-year-old and charge him with robbery, assault, and criminal mischief in an incident that occurred on July 9, 2008.
8:52 p.m.  Police respond to Cornwall Plaza for a report of juveniles skateboarding and tell them to move along.

9:44 p.m.  Police investigate a report of  eggs thrown at a residence on Winding Brook Court during the day.

10:27 p.m.  Police respond to a noise complaint on Robert Road and advise subjects to be quieter.

11:13 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for no proof of insurance to a 19-year-old male from Cornwall.


Thursday, August 7
7:00 a.m.  Police investigate a report of a laptop computer taken from an unlocked vehicle on Denniston Drive during the night.

7:07 a.m.  Police investigate a reported larceny of a satellite radio, discs, a headset and cigars that were taken from two vehicles that were parked in a garage on Denniston Drive during the night.

5:00 p.m.  Police respond to D &W Furniture for a report of an employee who was damaging property at the workplace.  He is gone on arrival.

6:12 p.m.  Police seize a loose dog on Bridal Path Lane and place it in the shelter.

9:50 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 32 to a 21-year-old male from Walden.

10:18 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 32 to a 64-year-old male from New Windsor.


Friday, August 8
1:14 a.m.  Police arrest 23-year-old Ismael Torres, of Haverstraw, for driving with a suspended license.

5:36 p.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at Riley Road and Route 94.

6:12 p.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 94 to a 19-year-old female from Monroe.

10:04 p.m.  Police charge an 18-year-old male from Newburgh with driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and issue him a ticket for speeding on Route 9W.

10:40 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving a vehicle with only one operating headlight on Route 9W to a 20-year-old male from Spring Valley.

10:57 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 9W to a 19-year-old male from Poughkeepsie.

10:59 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 9W to a 36-year-old male from Coral Springs.

11:23 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 58 mph in a 40 mph zone on Route 9W to a 44-year-old male from New Windsor.


August 9
12:34 a.m.  Police charge 40-year-old Tina Izzo, of Highland Mills, with driving with a suspended license on Route 9W.

10:15 a.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 66 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W to a 20-year-old female from Northford.

1:18 p.m.  Police take a report of a domestic mother-daughter incident in which one of the parties hit the family car, damaging it.

3:20 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 68 mph in a 45 mph zone on Route 9W to a 40-year-old male from the Bronx.

7:15 p.m.  Police respond to a report of an injured deer in the roadway on Orrs Mills Road and dispatch the animal with a single shot.

9:11 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a possible burglary in process and when police arrive the homeowner says it was her daughter-in-law who forgot her key wand was trying to gain entry through the back screen.

9:43 p.m.  Police respond to a mother-daughter domestic dispute.


Sunday, August 10
2:52 a.m.  Police issue three tickets to a 26-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson: one for driving without a license, one for failure to keep right and one for an inadequate muffler.

10:43 a.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Continental Road to a 23-year-old male from Newburgh.

10:54 a.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 51-year-old male from Newburgh.

11:01 a.m.  Police issue a ticket on Route 9W to a 36-year-old male from Newburgh.

11:18 a.m.  Police remove a deceased deer from the roadway on Route 9W.

11:36 a.m.  Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 34-year-old male from Cornwall.

12:21 p.m.  Police arrest a 47-year-old male for violating an order of protection.

Thnak goodness the PD was able to dispatch the injured deer with a single shot. The poor s.o.b. of a skunk that bought it in my neighborhood took 5 to cash his ticket.
