Dear Editor,
My name is Rachel Aufiero and I am a graduate of Cornwall High School and local resident. I am currently undertaking one of the biggest challenges to date and I would like to share this news with my local friends and families. I have recently signed up to partake in the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, CA, scheduled to take place on October 19, 2008.
In an effort to train and prepare myself for the marathon, I am working with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's 'Team-in-Training' (TNT). It is a training program led by qualified coaches and mentors who devote their time and efforts to training people like me for races such as this. TNT also raises money and awareness for research and the treatment of various blood cancers. The society has set a fund raising goal of $3,900 for me and I have been working hard to meet this goal.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would print my message in the hopes that people will take a moment to visit my website and donate to this wonderful cause and share their support.
