Sunday, June 29
10:21 a.m.  Police assist fire department as it extinguishes three separate brush fires on Mountain Road.

4:31 p.m.  Police issue six parking tickets to vehicles at the riverfront without a parking sticker.


Monday, June 30
12:55 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which the driver swerved to avoid a family of deer and hit a stone wall.

1:04 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a person breaking furniture in the roadway.  Subject says he is moving out and the furniture is his.  Subject is advised to clean up the roadway.

1:18 p.m.  Police respond to Village Pizza for a report of a baby fawn on the patio and remove the animal.

3:03 p.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to a vehicle at the riverfront without a parking sticker.


Tuesday, July 1
12:38 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a house on Duncan Avenue that was egged.

7:28 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a house on Avenue A that was egged during the night.

11:51 p.m.  Police observe a vehicle parked at the riverfront after the park had closed with no parking permit and the passengers sitting in the rear of the building.  Subjects advised.


Wednesday, July 2
10:02 a.m.  Police respond to Washington Street for a report of a village DPW garbage truck involved in an accident with injuries.



Thursday, July 3
12:43 a.m.  Police stop a vehicle for excessive loud music and driver has a junior license.  Passenger, who has a valid license, switches with the junior driver.

5:51 p.m.  Police remove young people from the gazebo area.

11:45 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a suspicious person on Academy Avenue and find no one.


Friday, July 4
1:12 p.m.  Police investigate a hit-and-run accident on Hudson Street in which a red vehicle was observed by a witness hit a telephone pole on Hudson Street, then drive off.

3:25 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a disorderly teen on Hudson Street.

4:20 p.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to a vehicle on Hudson Street that was about to be towed away when the owner came to claim it.

4:24 p.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to a vehicle on Hudson Street.

11:06 p.m.  Police arrest 23-year-old Brian Decker of Cornwall-on-Hudson after a police officer observed him punch a glass display case outside of the Giftworks business on Duncan Avenue.  The subject kept walking up Duncan Avenue after breaking the glass and Officer Terwilliger ran and grabbed him.

11:36 p.m.  Police investigate a report that a locked vehicle was broken into while parked on First Street, a purse opened and $60 in cash was missing, along with two Apple Ipods that were in the glove compartment.


Saturday, July 5, 2008
12:55 a.m.  Police observe and advise four young males making noise on the sidewalk near the River Bank Restaurant.

1:11 a.m.  Police disperse a group of juveniles outside 2 Alices Coffee Lounge.

1:15 a.m.  Police respond to a report of 10-12 juveniles throwing glass on private property on Hudson Street but they were not found.  Property owner cleaned up debris.

1:25 a.m.  Police observe a group of 10 juveniles creating a disturbance on Hudson Street and strongly advise them.

2:12 a.m.  Police observe a subject on Academy Avenue at Second Street who appeared to be highly intoxicated.  Subject had a cold beer on the ground next to him and was having a hard time standing.  Police transport him to his residence.

9:34 a.m.  Police take a report that someone had entered a car parked on First Street and displaced everything in the vehicle but nothing was taken.

3:45 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a loud party on Duncan Avenue and advise subject to lower the music.

9:40 p.m.  Police respond to a report of loud yelling at a residence.

10:18 p.m.   Police respond to a report of barking dog on First Street and taken the canine in for the night.

11:55 p.m.  Police provide back up to New Windsor police for a large fight involving 30 people  at Anthony’s Pier 9.
