Monday, June 23
5:59 a.m. Police respond to two separate reports of bear sightings on Route 9W northbound but do not find a bear.
9:56 a.m. Police respond to a report of a cat struck and killed by a car on Willow Avenue and speak with the animal’s owner who will dispose of it.
12:02 p.m. Police observe a group of juveniles skateboarding at Cornwall Plaza and advise them to move along.
1:22 p.m. Police respond to a report of a vehicle that drove away from the Citgo station on Route 9W without paying for the gas and find the driver, who says she thought she had paid for the fuel. She returns to the Citgo station and pays the $13.03 with no problem.
4:20 p.m. Police respond to a report of an erratic driver on Angola Road and locate the vehicle at the traffic circle. The 89-year-old driver, who possesses a valid license, says he is a little tired from working today.
4:20 p.m. Police respond to a report of juveniles in the parking lot of Manor Drive riding skateboards and bicycles and confirm that one of them is a resident of the complex.
8:37 p.m. Police respond to a report of a dog attacking two small dogs who were being walked on the soccer fields of the middle school. Police speak with the owner of the large dog that had gotten loose and advise its owner to keep better control of it.
10:11 p.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road.
10:54 p.m. Police respond to a report of fireworks being lit off behind the Willow Avenue school and locate subjects who are advised to leave school grounds. No fireworks found.
Tuesday, June 24
12:18 a.m. Police advise residents on Route 32 to quiet down a loud party.
1:00 a.m. Police observe an 18-wheeler parked at the old Tarket property on Route 94 and see discarded beer cans and an air conditioner on the side of the truck. Contact is made with the driver who had been sleeping and he cleaned up the mess he had made. Active warrant from the state of New Mexico but negative to extraditable.
10:21 a.m. Police issue a ticket to a 53-year-old female from New Windsor for failure to stop at a stop sign at Route 32.
10:31 a.m. Police issue a ticket to a 23-year-old female from New Windsor for an inadequate muffler.
12:09 p.m. Police issue a ticket for an inadequate muffler and one for no front plate to a 20-year-old male from Washingtonville.
12:46 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a Salisbury Mills resident for allowing his dogs to run loose following a complaint by a neighbor.
2:49 p.m. Police respond to a minor accident in which a sign on Main Street blew over onto a parked vehicle, causing minor damage.
5:10 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 20-year-old male from Pembroke Pines.
5:45 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a traffic violation on Route 94 to a 20-year-old male from New Windsor.
7:28 p.m. Police respond to a complaint of juveniles on NYMA property and advise them to leave.
7:38 p.m. Police respond to a personal injury accident at the Salisbury Mills train station.
10:21 p.m. Police assist a mental health patient at Cornwall hospital.
Wednesday, June 25
1:30 a.m. Police issue several tickets for vehicle equipment violations to a driver of a car with a flat tire and other problems.
8:42 a.m. Police issue a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign on Shore Drive and Ash Road to a 45-year-old female from New Windsor.
1:49 p.m. Police respond to a report of an 11-year-old boy who was bitten by the neighbor’s dog and verify vaccination records for the dog.
3:22 p.m. Police take a report from a resident of Shore Drive that a window on his residence was vandalized two weeks earlier.
5:47 p.m. Police issue a ticket for driving 50 mph in a 30 mph on Jackson Avenue to a 47-year-old female from Walden.
5:49 p.m. Police respond to a report of a vehicle driving across the grass behind the middle school and purposely tearing it up. An 18-year-old suspect from Salisbury Mills is interviewed later at the basketball court and he is advised that he will be charged with trespassing if he is seen on school property again.
9:10 p.m. Police respond to Route 9W for a motor vehicle accident.
Thursday, June 26
1:43 a.m. Police issue a ticket to a 53-year-old female from Clintondale on Route 32.
5:03 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 9W in which a vehicle rolled over and its driver was buckled in, then extricated by the fire department and flown to Westchester Medical Center.
7:24 a.m. Police respond to a Willow Avenue where graffiti had been sprayed on a pile of building materials using red, black and royal blue colors. Words said “I Love NY” and “you are cool.”
8:16 a.m. Police investigate a report of ten harassing phone calls made to the victims phone all night long.
11:53 a.m. Police respond to the traffic circle for a report of an assault in progress and observe a large group of juveniles horse playing. The youths explain it is the last day of school and they were jumping on each other’s backs. All parties are requested to move on.
1:21 p.m. Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle with no injuries at the intersection of Mill Street and Harold Avenue.
7:38 p.m. Police investigate a report of a person on an unregistered motorcycle that struck at dog that was running in the roadway on Hickory Street.
8:11 p.m. Police hear fireworks explode and advise subject and his mother.
8:24 p.m. Police investigate vandalism on the stone wall in front of a business on Main Street where unknown subjects that written and drawn designs on the wall.
Friday, June 27
12:32 a.m. Police speak with people who are sitting on the steps of the Lemon Building on Main Street and ask them to move along.
9:47 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Laurel Avenue to a 46-year-old male from New Paltz.
2:15 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 24-year-old male from Cornwall.
2:56 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident near Cornwall Hospital in which a female driver had an apparent seizure. The woman did not recall the accident but a witness said he saw her pull into the Emergency Room entrance, then back up onto Laurel Avenue. The vehicle then accelerated forward over a curb, destroyed a one-way sign, went over a second curb in the parking lot where it hit several parked cards. The driver was unconscious and taken to the hospital for treatment.
3:10 p.m. Police take a report of an aggressive dog bothering a neighbor when she walks her dogs.
11:11 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign on Route 32 and Orrs Mills Road to a 23-year-old male from New Windsor.
Saturday, July 28
12:56 a.m. Police advise three male teenagers on bikes to leave the town park.
1:23 a.m. Police issue a ticket for having an obstructed view to a 19-year-old male from Mountainville.
2:26 a.m. Police issue a ticket for having less than two lighted headlamps to a 34-year-old female from Highland Mills.
5:36 a.m. Police find subjects sleeping in a two vehicles parked on Shore Road near the Hudson River and determine they had been fishing during the night. Subjects move to another location.
7:23 a.m. Police issue a ticket on Route 32 to a 34-year-old male driver with an obstructed view.
10:20 a.m. Police charge 28-year-old Ian Powerl, of Beacon, with driving with a suspended license on Route 9W.
12:47 a.m. Police charge three teenage males with disorderly conduct after they are found skateboarding on Route 9W. The mother of one boy is charged with endangering the welfare of a child. (See full story)
Sunday, July 29
1:23 a.m. Police find two people in a parked car in the rear of Munger Cottage who are putting their clothes on. Police advise the 23-year-old male and 21-year-old female, who leave the park.
1:45 a.m. Police charge 29-year-old Moises Bonilla, of Garnerville, with driving with a suspended license, failure to keep right, and driving with an obstructed view on Route 32.
2:16 a.m. Police tell a 17-year-old female sitting on a swing behind Willow Avenue school that she is trespassing.
6:56 a.m. Police investigate the vandalism of two mailboxes and one newspaper box at a residence on Quaker Avenue that appeared to have been caused by a vehicle.
8:08 a.m. Police investigate a report of criminal mischief in which the glass window of a van was broken while parked overnight on Willow Avenue.
11:18 a.m. Police check a wooded area on Mill Street for reported unauthorized gatherings and find a mini excavator with shattered window, garbage, and graffiti.
5:35 p.m. Police reunite a child reported missing in Woodbury with his foster parents.
5:45 p.m. Police investigate a report of an erratic driver who says his diabetes may have affected his driving.
8:27 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a 27-year-old female from Newburgh on Route 9W.
9:06 p.m. Police issue a ticket on Route 32 to a 26-year-old female from Cornwall-on-Hudson.
10:42 p.m. Police attempt to locate subjects in wooded area off Mill Street.
