Police Blotter: June 22-25, 2008

Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department

Sunday, June 22
6:36 p.m.  Police arrest Jason Etta, 22, of Highland Falls, for driving with a suspended license on Route 9W.


Monday, June 23
1:23 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a GPS system stolen rom a car parked on Grandview Avenue during the evening of June 22.

4:59 p.m.  Police respond to a domestic disturbance.

5:35 p.m.  Police respond to a hit-and-run accident involving a vehicle parked on Idlewild Avenue.  Damage to the car’s driver-side panel was noticed after the car was parked over the weekend.

11:08 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a large group of juveniles jumping out in front of cars on Hudson Street near Village Pizza but find no one on arrival.


Tuesday, June 24
7:00 a.m.  Police respond to a report of a hit-and-run accident involving a car parked overnight on Lafayette Street.   Police were looking for a silver Oldsmobile and a red Jeep that may have been involved.

11:29 a.m.  Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle’s tire hit a tree stump.

7:29 p.m.  Police investigate a report of a navigation system stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Washington Street.

10:14 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a loud party on Lafayette Street and advise subjects to move inside.

11:43 p.m.  Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Hudson Street.


Wednesday, June 25
1:31 p.m.  Police advise a group of skateboarders at Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School.

6:23 p.m.  Police respond to River Avenue where a driver stated he accidentally hit his remote starter in his pocket, which resulted in his vehicle crashing into a fence.  The vehicle has a standard transmission that was left in gear.

11:07 p.m.  Police respond to a report of a group of juveniles walking in the middle of Hudson Street interfering with traffic and advise them

welllll, if you are stupid enough to think that walking in the middle of the street, in the dark, interfering with traffic, when there may be drunkem drivers out on the road, is a good idea, then - Thin the gene pool!! that's what I say! Although finding someone to explain to your parents why your brains are all over the street, that's a bummer... I think these guys need less 'advising' - maybe they need that rope from nursery school, you know, the one where everyone gets to hold their own knot....

I find the incident when "a large group of juveniles jumping out in front of cars on Hudson Street near Village Pizza" even more curious. Probably the same group of potential road kill. Who do you think wins in a collision between a 130 lb. nitwit and a 3,000 lb. car?
