Monday, June 16
3:05 a.m. Police provide courtesy transport to two females stranded at Highland Engine Company to a residence in Highland Falls.
8:24 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 38-year-old male truck driver from New Windsor after he was stopped for a safety check on Route 32.
9:10 a.m. Police issue three tickets to a Freightliner truck driver after he was stopped for a safety check on Route 32.
10:27 a.m. Police issue two tickets to a Kenworth truck driver after he was stopped for a safety check on Route 32.
11:23 a.m. Police issue two tickets to a truck driver after he was stopped for a safety check on Route 32.
3:17 p.m. Police respond to the area of Town Park for a report of suspicious persons. All are advised to be quiet and to pick up after themselves. Afterwards, officer observes them arguing among themselves and strongly advises to be quiet and asks them to move along.
4:51 p.m. Police respond to a report of a disorderly group at the public library and advise them to move along.
6:00 p.m. Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident on Quaker Avenue.
10:10 p.m. Police respond to 9W for a report of a hitchhiker and speak with subject who says he is from Florida and is just wandering around. He asks for a ride down the road and officer transports him to Newburgh.
Tuesday, July 17
8:20 a.m. Police investigate a report of a decorative patio wall consisting of 43 blocks, that was stolen from a residence on Lakewood Trail. The blocks were valued at $129.
10:11 a.m. Police investigate a report of criminal mischief at The Stylist’s Chair salon on Main Street in several incidents in which the flag was taken, the rear door lock damaged, profanity written on her sign with the letters re-arranged and finally the removal of the salon’s sign down a block or so.
10:11 a.m. Police respond to a verbal mother-son domestic dispute.
12:13 p.m. Police move along a group of juveniles at town hall.
1:15 p.m. Police issue a ticket for an expired inspection to the 49-year-old male driver of a vehicle that had run out of gas on Route 32.
2:19 p.m. Police assist a disoriented woman who had checked herself out of Cornwall hospital who was found lying face down in a grass area of NYMA.
4:21 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 218.
7:19 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a 62-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson for speeding on Route 9W.
7:26 p.m. Police issue two tickets, one for a loud muffler and one for inadequate stop lamps to a 23-year-old male from Duryea.
9:50 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a 60-year-old male from Wallkill for talking on a cell phone while driving on Route 9W.
10:04 p.m. While on patrol an officer observes a female hanging over the Willow Avenue overpass. The subject appears to be intoxicated. The officer calls COVAC and the subject puts up a struggle before being transported to the hospital.
Wednesday, June 18
10:50 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 41-year-old male from Monroe.
10:54 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 38-year-old female from New Windsor.
11:05 a.m. Police take in a cell phone that had been found at Lee Road School a month earlier.
12:35 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a vehicle at the train station.
1:45 p.m. Police issue four traffic tickets to vehicles at the train station.
2:06 p.m. Police move along a group of juveniles at Cornwall Plaza and later find them at the Town Park pavilion where they uprooted the picnic tables from anchors bedded into cement. Police seize their skateboards and tell them they must come to police headquarters with a parent to retrieve them.
3:37 p.m. Police take in a small brown Yorkie to the kennel.
4:20 p.m. Police respond to a report of a larceny of a nail gun from a vehicle on Willow Avenue.
4:34 p.m. Police issue tickets to two vehicles parked at the train station.
6:07 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Laurel Avenue.
7:28 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 32 to a 25-year-old male from Newburgh.
7:45 p.m. Police respond to Cornwall hospital for a report of a woman who was bitten by her dog.
8:17 p.m. Police respond to a report of a tree on fire that was lying on power lines. Salisbury Mills Fire Department also responds.
9:35 p.m. Police advise people in a vehicle that town hall park is closed.
Thursday, June 19
6:25 a.m. Police issue three tickets to a 31-year-old male driving on Route 32 without a valid license and impound his vehicle.
7:21 a.m. Police respond to Hazard’s Pharmacy for a report of criminal mischief in which someone had drawn a stick figure and the word “YUCK” with magic marker.
8:12 a.m. Police respond tot he middle school where graffiti in the form of a hexagram with two yellow circles in the center of it had been painted on a wall near the roof.
10:43 a.m. Police issue a ticket for a traffic violation near Xavier Acres to a 19-year-old female from New Windsor.
11:10 a.m. Police issue a ticket for a traffic violation on Angola Road to a 33-year-old female from Tuxedo Park.
11:26 a.m. Police issue a ticket for a traffic violation on Laurel Avenue to a 17-year-old male from New Windsor.
12:07 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a traffic violation on Angola Road to a 45-year-old female from Central Valley.
1:15 p.m. Police respond to a report that a window had been broken on a piece of heavy construction equipment.
2:10 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a traffic violation on Route 32 to a 22-year-old male from Newburgh.
2:49 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Holloran Road.
6:20 p.m. Police respond to the town court for a report of a verbal argument involving the defendant in a sexual abuse case due to be heard in the court.
Friday, June 20
12:43 a.m. Police respond to Orrs Mills Road for a report of a loud party and shooting off fireworks. Police speak with the son of the property owner who says he is having his bachelor party. Advised to quiet down.
2:46 a.m. Police respond to Robert Road where the resident says he and his wife were woken by a bang and discovered an egg had been thrown at his home. The wife saw a vehicle driving away but could not be sure if the egg came from the car. Canvass of the area was negative.
4:17 a.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident.
6:40 a.m. Police issue two tickets to a 27-year-old male from Newburgh who was driving on Route 32 without a license and impound his car.
8:12 a.m. Police respond to Tamara Lane for an industrial accident involving a steamroller belonging to the town of Cornwall. One employee was injured and taken to the hospital by COVAC.
10:58 a.m. Police issue two traffic tickets on Taylor Road to a 19-year-old male from New Windsor.
1:28 p.m. Police advise a group of skateboarders at Cornwall Plaza.
4:21 p.m. Police respond to Prima Pizza for a physical dispute between two men. Neither want to press charges.
4:56 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a vehicle left the roadway on the ramp from Willow Avenue to Route 9W north due to wet driving conditions.
7:30 p.m. Police assist a female who became unconscious taken prescription pain medication before going to a party on Academy Avenue.
10:30 p.m. Police assist with a disorderly person at the hospital emergency room.
10:54 p.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 9W and a ticket for having less than two headlights to a 46-year-old male from Spring Valley.
Saturday, June 21
12:35 a.m. Police inspect a vehicle for damage after a woman reported that someone had thrown a fireworks under it.
1:00 a.m. Police respond to a report of vandalism of a rock wall on Main Street and suspects agree to make restitution.
2:33 a.m. Police respond to a report of a loud party on Route 32 near the Masonic Temple and advise the 15-20 adults sitting outside to quiet down.
10:15 a.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 9W to a 38-year-old male from Philadelphia.
12:29 p.m. Police respond to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Main Street with no injuries.
2:23 p.m. Police take a report of a diamond and ruby ring that was lost during near the baseball fields at town hall park.
3:30 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident the ramp from Quaker Avenue to Route 9W south. No injuries reported.
10:26 p.m. Police on patrol in the woods behind Town Hall Park find several subjects and two boxes containing various cans and bottles of beer. All subjects deny ownership of the alcohol and all of them are younger than 21. Alcohol is seized and subjects are escorted out of the park and strongly advised.
11:37 p.m. Police arrive in a wooded area between Mailler Avenue and Route 9W where several subjects fled on foot. Three females are located and detained. They do not appear to be impaired and denied possession of various boxes of beer found in the area. Subjects are escorted back to Mailler Avenue and strongly advised. The alcohol is seized and destroyed.
Sunday, June 22
12:01 a.m. Police respond to a report of a bear on Otterkill Road but the bear is gone on arrival.
12:06 a.m. Police respond to a report of a loud party on Harris Lane and advise the hosts to quiet down.
12:24 a.m. Police respond to a report of a loud party on Youmans Lane and advise the homeowner to quiet down.
5:50 a.m. Police respond to a report of damage to the front door of Dunkin Donuts.
10:52 p.m. Police respond to a man laying on the ground outside the hospital who says he is homeless and has no way to get back to Newburgh. Police provide courtesy transport.
11:52 p.m. Police execute a bench warrant for Peter Hayward, of Highland, N.Y.
