To the Editor,
On behalf of the Cornwall Ministerial Group, I am pleased to announce an upcoming community event that will be held on Saturday, October 4. The event will be our first annual Local Faith Communities Open House. The intent of this letter is to extend an invitation formally to all faith groups in our Cornwall area to be part of the planning and participation in the October 4th event.
During this Open House we envision individual houses of worship being open for public visitation. Visitors will be able get an informative “inside look” at each location to discover a heritage as well as a welcome. Also, there will be food samples of culinary delights unique to each faith community. We are still in the planning stage, so to all of you believers out there - now is the time to join and share your ideas.
Presently committed faith communities are: St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall United Methodist Church, Mountainville United Methodist Church, Cornwall Presbyterian Church, and St. John’s Episcopal Church. With summer soon upon us, now is the time to lay the specific groundwork for this event; please consider joining!
We plan on solidifying plans at our Tuesday, July 1st meeting which will be held at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church at 11:30 a.m. We hope to hear of interest from all faith communities prior to July 1. More importantly, we hope representative(s) from each faith community will attend this meeting. Please RSVP and direct questions or suggestions to Deacon William Stafford at St. Thomas, 534-2547, or E-mail: [email protected].
Sincerely,
Darlene E.R. Resling
Pastor Mountainville United Methodist Church
(For the Greater Cornwall Ministerial Group)
