General News: Village Ice Cream Stand Gets A Name

The ice cream stand near the village bandstand has a new name, Storm King Scoops. Daniella Taliaferro came up with the winning name in a contest sponsored by Derric Wetter, the new owner of the ice cream stand.
Wetter is running the operation together with his girlfriend, Kerry Kelly, who manages it. The stand opened for business on May 27th and lines of cone-lovers have been spotted there almost every evening since.
Storm King Scoops is located at the top of River Avenue, in the side of the building that houses the now-closed Storm King Theater. Around the corner is another new eatery, Drew’s on the Square.

I thought that was the nick-name of the village police blotter...
