Friday, May 16
8:20-1:09 p.m. Police issue 15 tickets for vehicle and traffic violations.
2 p.m. Police investigate a larceny report on Route 94.
2:39 p.m. Police investigate a report of a simple assault involving two juveniles on a school bus and refer the incident to the school.
5:25 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94 in which one vehicle rear-ended another.
8:51-9:15 p.m. Police issue two tickets for vehicle and traffic violations.
Saturday, May 17
9:30 a.m. Police investigate a report of $12,000 of jewelry taken from a residence that turns out to have been stolen by a family member. Complainant declines to press charges.
12:33 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 32 that occurred when a driver swerved to avoid an oncoming car in his lane.
Sunday, May 18
12:36 a.m. Police issue a ticket to a 31-year-old male driver from Newburgh for failure to stay right on Route 32.
2:50 a.m. Police observe two people sitting on the grass of the Solid Rock Church on Route 32 and after speaking with them determine that the female was 15 years old and she was supposed to be at her friend’s house sleeping but instead was hanging out with a 16-year-old male. Both subjects are given a courtesy ride to their homes and the father of the 15-year-old girl is advised of the situation.
6:29 a.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 9W to a 48-year-old female from New Windsor.
12:30 p.m. Police respond to a burglary alarm at the Lee Road School and observe three boys, ages 11 and 14, in front of the school. They acknowledge that they found a garage door open on the side of the school, opened an inside door to the school and used the bathroom. There were no signs of criminal mischief.
4:00 p.m. Police investigate a report of a catalytic converter removed from the exhaust pipe of a vehicle parked at the Salisbury Mills train station.
7:05 p.m. Police respond to a fight between juveniles on Highland Avenue.
Monday, May 19
12:34 a.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Quaker Avenue to a 53-year-old female from New Windsor.
7:53 a.m. Police respond to a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Orrs Mills Road.
9:14 a.m. Police respond to a hit-and-run accident involving a garbage truck with New Jersey plates on Route 32.
12:14-1:12p.m. Police issue three tickets for vehicle and traffic violations.
Tuesday, May 20
5:17-5:54 a.m. Police issue two tickets for vehicle and traffic violations.
9:44 a.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 32 to a 50-year-old female from Highland Mills.
10:46 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 36-year0old female from Cornwall.
12:23 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of Key Foods where a woman struck the door of a Cornwall-on-Hudson police vehicle that was parked in the lot.
6:00 p.m. Police arrest Thomas O’Brien, 42, of New Windsor, for violating the terms of his parole by drinking a beer at the Shamrock Tavern.
6:34 p.m. Police arrest 42-year-old David Schuyler, of New Windsor, for violating the terms of his parole by drinking a beer.
Wednesday, May 21
12:30 a.m. Police issue a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign to a 19-year-old female from New Windsor.
9:17 a.m. Police respond to a report of a male subject who had stumbled out of the woods on Route 32 in the area known as the Flats. Subject stated that he is homeless and trying to get to his brother’s house upstate. Police give him a transport to the Five Corners.
10:41 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at Quaker Avenue and Route 9W.
11:47 a.m. Responding to a report of a reckless vehicle on Route 32, police issue a ticket for impeding traffic to a 48-year-old male from Vails Gate.
Thursday, May 22
8:39-8:54 a.m. Police issue two tickets for vehicle and traffic violations.
12:21 p.m. Police charge a 51-year-old male from New Windsor with second-degree harassment after he allegedly threatened a nurse while he was a patient at St. Luke’s Cornwall hospital.
1:44 p.m. Police transport a woman who was threatening to harm herself to the mental health unit of Cornwall hospital for evaluation.
5:47 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 94 and Dragon Drive.
6:18 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Mineral Springs Road.
7:48 p.m. Police respond to a report of a vehicle run off the road by another vehicle as the driver was traveling east on Route 94.
11:41 p.m. Police respond to a complaint about juveniles standing on the sidewalk on Mailler Avenue. Upon arrival the youths were not doing anything wrong and the complainant had not stated they were doing anything wrong but they were moved along.
Friday, May 23
9:18 a.m. Police issue a ticket on Route 32 to a 20-year-old female from Salisbury Mills.
9:27 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94 and issue one of the drivers three tickets for traffic violations.
2:05 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W.
2:30 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 31-year-old male from Port Jervis.
4:10 p.m. Police respond to a report of juveniles skating on the picnic tables in the town park and speak to them.
5:06 p.m. Police break up an extremely loud verbal argument in town park in which a woman accused another subject of harassing her daughter with phone calls and threats.
6:56 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 9W and Mountain Road in which a driver said another vehicle forced him to drift into the barrier, causing damage to his car.
8:34 p.m. Police respond to a report of a rabid raccoon on Cherry Hill Road and observe a large raccoon that was unsteady in its gait and overly aggressive. The animal also had a very foul odor and police dispatch the animal.
Saturday, May 24
12:42 a.m. Police respond to a loud verbal domestic dispute and advise the parties to quiet down.
Comments:
I witnessed the arrest of one of the men mentioned above. I'm not saying that he shoudn't have been arrested for violating parole, but you all would have been amazed that the number of police officers sent to arrest one non-violent man. I counted at least 11 officers from 3 different agentcies. I mean give me a break. Do we really need these Gestapo-like tactics??

No-oh, the real thieves are the insurance industries and the corporate interests. And if they needed 4 police cruisers at a supervised teen party(before 8:00p.m.), you KNOW one beer drinking dude will require the really big guns.... yeah, I feel really safe now...
