Monday, May 12
8:29 a.m. Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident involving two cars passing on Main Street whose driver’s side mirrors hit each other.
9:08 –10:04 a.m. Police issue three traffic tickets to drivers on Route 32, Route 9W and Quaker Avenue.
11:03 a.m. Police investigate a report that the left window of a dump truck parked on Ardmore Street had been smashed.
11:35 a.m. Police investigate a complaint that a small cat shelter in the municipal parking lot on Main Street had been broken and the pieces scattered. The complainant said that she has maintained the shelter and had cats spayed and neutered for 20 years. She was able to gather the pieces and put it back together again.
12:16 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 44-year-old female driver from Highland Mills on Mill Street.
1:35 p.m. Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident involving two cars in the parking lot of 14 Elm Street.
1:44 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a 20-year-old male from Stony Point on Oak Street.
2:39 p.m. Police issue two traffic tickets to a 34-year-old male from Monroe on Route 32.
2:57 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident in which a driver apparently suffered a diabetic incident while driving on Route 32. According to eyewitnesses in the vehicles behind him, the driver was headed north on Route 32 at Orrs Mills Road when he came to a complete stop in the wrong lane of traffic. He then took off and crossed both southbound lanes and hit the guardrail on Orrs Mills Road. Without stopping, he then went over all lanes of traffic into the northbound lane and hit the guardrail a second time and kept going. He crossed back into the southbound lane, then made a hard left turn which resulted in hitting the rear of two other vehicles before coming to a rest when he hit the bridge head on. When the driver regained consciousness at the hospital, he had no recollection of what had occurred.
4:46 p.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Angola Road and a ticket for an expired inspection sticker to a 36-year-old female from Highland Mills.
5:10 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a 47-year-old male from Newburgh for speeding on Angola Road.
7:17 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a 31-year-old male from Brooklyn for speeding on Route 9W.
9:39 p.m. Police recover a stray white dog with a red collar but no ID tag on Maple Street and put him the town shelter.
10:17 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a vehicle for having less than two lighted headlights.
Tuesday, May 13
1:31 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Quaker Avenue to a 32-year-old male from Milford.
8:30 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket to a trailer with no tail lights on Route 32.
8:42 p.m. Police respond to a fire alarm at the high school which turns out to have been activated by steam in the boys locker room.
9:58 p.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 9W to a 29-year-old male from Cornwall.
Wednesday, May 14
5:15 a.m. Police dispatch a badly injured deer on Route 94.
7:51 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Quaker Avenue to a 19-year-old female from Cornwall.
8:36 a.m. Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident at Chadeayne traffic circle where one vehicle rear-ended another. Police issue two tickets: one for following too closely and one for an uninspected motor vehicle.
9:27 a.m. Police respond to a minor motor vehicle accident on Academy Avenue.
2:05 p.m. Police respond to a report of a male hanging a sheet from the train trestle by Otterkill Road. Police notify MTA and canvas the area and do not observe anyone. Officer Douglas goes out on the trestle and cuts down a white sheet painted with the word BANQUET in green letters.
8:05 p.m. Police investigate a report of three motorcycles being driven recklessly and a later report of a man who said that three bikes had stopped him on Main Street and Willow Avenue where one of the male riders punched him in the face six times.
9:39 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 27-year-old male driver from New Windsor.
10:00 p.m. Police issue a ticket to a 17-year-old female for driving after 9 p.m. with a Class DJ license.
Thursday, May 15
4:50 a.m. Police respond a small fire under the porch of a house on Broadway that appeared to have been caused by a cigarette dropped into mulch.
8:47 a.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Jackson Avenue to a 22-year-old male from Wappingers Falls.
6:09 –7:08p.m. Police issue four tickets for failure to stop at a stop sign at Ash and Shore Drives to four separate drivers.
