General News: Award for Three Decades in Business

Smitchger Realty has been a mainstay of Main Street in Cornwall for 38 years – longer than any other business in that section of the town’s business district, according to Ellen Kelly, who runs the day-to-day operations of the business her parents started.
In recognition of Smitchger Realty’s operation for more than three decades, the Orange County Association of Realtors (OCAR) presented special awards to John and Jean Smitchger at its Excellence in Sales Awards Ceremony on April 17, 2008.
The couple, who are the brokers/owners of the company, received a certificate recognizing their 38 years of valuable contributions and long-standing commitment to the professional values of OCAR.
Their daughter, Ellen Kelly, a broker, was presented with an excellence in sales award in the same ceremony. In Orange County this year, 71 brokers out of a total of 2800 realtors received awards.
