Colonel Russell Blair, a long-term resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson for decades, passed away on April 20, 2008.
Cornwall-on-Hudson clerk Jeanne Mahoney noted his passing at the board meeting on Monday evening, a place, she said, where Blair was a fixture, know to many.

I am so saddened by this news. Colonel Blair was a fountain of knowledge and history. He was still sharp as a tack and knew the history of Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson and could speak endlessly about his love for our town. What a great man...
