Daniella Jones' harassment case goes to trial May 20. |
April 17, 2008
Fired Cornwall high school teacher Daniella Jones will have to wait another month for her court date.
Judge Francis Navarra moved the bench trial from April 22 to May 20, 2008. Jones is facing harassment charges following an encounter with 17-year-old Joseph Strickland in January. Jones denies the harassment charges. The incident, however, led to her termination from her position as a replacement biology teacher.
Both the prosecution and the defense attorneys plan to call several students to testify in the trial as eyewitnesses. The re-scheduling of the court date was made because many of those students will be out of town on spring vacation on April 22, according to the court clerk’s office.
