Police Blotter: April 6-9, 2008

Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department

Sunday, April 6
4:49 p.m.  Police issue a summons for vehicle and traffic violation on Hudson Street to an 18-year-old male from Cornwall.

Monday, April 7
No summonses or arrests.

Tuesday, April 8
5:12 p.m.  Police issue three tickets for parking at the riverfront without a permit.

7:00 p.m.  Police take a report of harassing phone calls a man has been receiving from his girlfriend’s ex-husband.


Wednesday, April 9
1:04 a.m.  Police investigate a suspicious vehicle parked behind 311 Hudson Street.

8:02 a.m.  Police issue a ticket for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 218 to a 50-year-old female from Newburgh.

12:10 p.m.  Police respond to a residence on Wood Avenue for a report of an opossum walking around the yard.  Opossum did not appear to be sick and is only in the area for food that is left out for cats.

3:29 p.m.  Police respond to a complaint of parents parking along the fence at Cornwall-on-Hudson elementary school that is a drop-off area only and causing a back-up.  Officer moves cars along.

6:18 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 73 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 9W to a 31-year-old male from Newburgh.

8:20 p.m.  Police observe a vehicle with its lights on parked in the municipal parking lot and ask the occupants what they are doing.  The driver says they are just sitting there doing nothing.  One of the occupants is disrespectful and they are advised to move along.

8:40 p.m.  Police issue a ticket for driving 78 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 9W to a 49-year-old woman from New Windsor.

10:19 p.m.  Police respond to a harassment report from a resident who says an unknown male had left harassing message on his answering machine.
