Sunday, March 30
4:13 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Duncan Avenue to a 25-year-old male from Cornwall.
5:05 p.m. Police respond to a report of a raccoon that appeared to be sick and dispatch the animal.
Monday, March 31
5:28 p.m. Police respond to a domestic incident and 32-year-old Edward Storms of Cornwall-on-Hudson is charged with criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and is taken to Cornwall hospital for evaluation.
Tuesday, April 1
9:36 p.m. Police respond to a structure fire on Avenue A. (Full story here.)
Wednesday, April 2
6:24 p.m. Police issue a summons for vehicle and traffic violation on Academy Avenue to a 25-year-old male from Gardiner.
6:39 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Second Street to a 48-year-old male from Cornwall.
7:04 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Hudson Street to a 19-year-old female from Newburgh.
7:28 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 37-year-old male from Newburgh.
8:27 p.m. Police respond to Storm King School for a report of a suspicious person, a thin white male, approximately 38 years old, who came into the women’s dorm and asked for something to write with and for the music teacher, then left the building. Police unable to locate anyone.
Thursday, April 3
12:48 p.m. Police respond to Cumberland Farms for a report of a customer harassing the clerk after she told him to ‘have a nice day.’ The customer, a 35-year-old male from Cornwall-on-Hudson, responded, “why don’t you come outside so I can see you cry and then I will have a great day,’ and cursed at the clerk. The customer was advised not to return to the store.
Friday, April 4
8:38 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 31-year-old male from Highland Mills.
8:53 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 9W to a 16-year-old female from New Windsor.
10:15 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Hudson Street to a 32-year-old male from Cornwall.
10:22 p.m. Police issue a summons for a vehicle and traffic violation on Hudson Street to a 22-year-old female from Middletown.
10:39 p.m. Police issue a summons to a 16-year-old male from Cornwall for driving outside the restrictions of his license.
10:43 p.m. Police are dispatched to Church Street in the area of the cemetery for a suspicious vehicle and observe a vehicle parked with two occupants. The male occupant is advised to leave the area and return home.
11:08 p.m. Police arrest 61-year-old Stephen Johnson, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, for driving while intoxicated, a first offense, after police stopped his vehicle at a road check on Hudson Street.
Saturday, April 5
5:29 p.m. Police respond to Paula Court for a report of an injured deer in the caller’s backyard. Police observe a deer with an injured leg and while approaching it, the deer takes off running.
5:40 p.m. Police respond to Maple Road for a report of a container of ice cream thrown on the hood of a car. No apparent damage to the vehicle.
6:20 p.m. Police arrest Shane Becker, 22, of New Windsor, for driving with a suspended license and is also issued summonses for speeding and failure to stop at a stop sign at River Avenue and Shore Road.
9:59 p.m. Police observe several people trespassing on CSX property behind the village DPW and advise them to leave the area.
