Police Blotter: March 23-26, 2008

Sunday, March 23, 2008
3:09 a.m.  Police assist town police on a noise complaint regarding patrons of the Shamrock Tavern.

5:44 a.m.  Police respond to a report by an employee of Cumberland Farms who says that she is counting out money for the register when a tall man who appears to be homeless is pounding on the window, attempting to get into the building.

8:53 p.m.  Police respond to a complaint of an unknown number of juveniles who were throwing eggs from the treeline above the DB Mart gas station.  Patrol did observe several broken eggs in the roadway and entered the woods with negative results and also canvassed the area with negative results.


Monday, March 24
12:45 p.m.  Police respond to the Cornwall-on-Hudson post office for a found pocket book and returned it to the owner.

3:05 p.m.  Police respond to a woman who said she saw a boy going into the woods off Bayview Avenue, then she saw smoke.  Police enter the woods but the fire had been extinguished.

9:13 p.m.  Police respond to a complaint of disorderly conduct that turns out to be kids playing a game called man hunt.  All are advised to keep it down and be respectful.

10:02 p.m.  Police issue a parking ticket to a vehicle parked in the wrong direction on River Avenue.

10:38 p.m.  Police respond to the area of Cornwall Avenue for a report of an injured deer. Upon arrival the deer got up and walked off. It had an injured front leg but did not need to be dispatched.

11:48 p.m.  Police get a report of a loose dog on Hudson Street, which is later caught by a subject walking and handed over to the police.


Tuesday, March 25
2:23 p.m.  Police respond to an accident at Walden Savings Bank in which a driver hit an ATM machine, knocking it loose, and then injured her leg when exiting her vehicle.

4:45 p.m.  Police charge Christopher Foster, 43, of Cornwall-on-Hudson with violating an order of protection.

8:26 p.m.  Police take a report from a person who said that her email accounts have been hacked into approximately three times and she has received threatening emails from the hacker.   Subject also alerted the FBI.

10:14 p.m.  Police take a report from a person who says that she has been receiving numerous calls from an unknown caller who is Spanish-speaking and always asks for the same person.   Officer Pena later contacts the caller and informs her that she has the wrong number.


Wednesday, March 26
5:35 a.m.  A woman calls to report that during the night her door blew open from the wind and a raccoon entered her home and she is seeking assistance to get the animal outside.  Before police arrive, the homeowner calls to report that the raccoon vacated her residence on its own.

7:18 p.m.  Police respond to a report of juveniles running on the rooftop of the Food Bank but find no one there on arrival.
