Monday, February 25
8:40 a.m. Police assist a vehicle that attempted to turn around in a driveway on Mill Street and got stuck in a snow bank.
9:27 a.m. Police respond to a report of an injured deer on Orrs Mills Road and dispatch the animal.
2:48 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to a 22-year-old male from Tupper Lake.
2:48 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 9W to an 18-year-old male from Cornwall.
4:42 p.m. Police charge 32-year-old Dennis Vittum, of Central Valley, with driving with a suspended license and driving with an expired inspection sticker.
5:35 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 94 to an 18-year-old female from Cornwall.
5:52 p.m. Police respond to the area of Route 9W for a deer vs. car motor vehicle accident.
6:00 p.m. Police investigate a report of an Ipod stolen at the high school.
7:41 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute involving a mother and her 15-year-old son.
8:15 p.m. Police respond to a report of juveniles who set a bag on fire in the street on Jackie Street and do not find anyone.
Tuesday, February 26
5:58 a.m. Police on patrol observe a deer vs. motor vehicle accident on Angola Road in which the deer is killed and the driver uninjured.
6:30 a.m. Police a ticket for driving 70 mph on Route 9W to a 41-year-old male from New Windsor.
2:00 p.m. Police take possession of firearms turned over for safekeeping.
3:53 p.m. Police take a report of a harassing email message.
11:40 p.m. Police issue two tickets for vehicle and traffic violations on Route 32 to a 37-year-old male from Marlboro.
Wednesday, February 27
7:39 a.m. Police issue two tickets, one for an unlicensed driver and one for leaving the scene of an accident, to a 38-year-old female from Cornwall. The tickets were issued after the driver was struck by another vehicle at Route 32 and Beakes Road.
4:22 p.m. Police charge Salvador Cid, of Middletown, with criminal possession of a stolen vehicle after a car was found abandoned on Route 94 and then the driver re-appeared saying it was his car. Cid was also charged with driving without a license.
4:42 p.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident involving three vehicles on Route 32. No injuries reported.
9:28 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 50-year-old male from Walden.
9:52 p.m. Police issue a ticket for a vehicle and traffic violation on Route 94 to a 34-year-old female from Goshen.
10:31 p.m. Police respond to a report of an injured deer on Route 94 but the animal ran off.
3:32 p.m. Police respond to Willow Avenue where a complaint was made about five suspicious males walking down the roadway, one with pants falling off and causing an offensive condition. Police locate the subject and made him aware of the complaint and he complied.
6:50 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 94 to a 16-year-old male driver from Cornwall.
7:11 p.m. Police issue a ticket for speeding on Route 94 to a 43-year-old female from New Windsor.
8:53 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 94 to a 47-year-old male from Campbell Hall.
9:42 p.m. Police issue a traffic ticket on Route 32 to a 19-year-old female from Highland Mills.
Friday, February 29
12:46 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Shore Road in which the driver skidded and went off the road.
9:25 a.m. Police charge Hector Morales, 54, of New Windsor, with driving with three or more license suspensions, a misdemeanor, after neighbors reported seeing the man driving around the area of Shore Road or sleeping there in his car.
11:25 a.m. Police open an investigation into harassing phone calls received by a complainant.
6:51 p.m. Police charge a patient at Cornwall hospital with criminal mischief after he damaged a cordless phone and a fluorescent light in an exam room.
Saturday, March1
1:29 a.m. Police respond to a motor vehicle accident on Route 94 in which a driver swerved to avoid another driver in her lane, lost control and ended up in a ditch.
2:26 a.m. Police ticket and tow two cars parked on Torrey Lane in violation of the snow ordinance.
3:30 a.m. Police ticket and tow seven cars parked in the municipal parking lot in violation of the snow ordinance.
Police investigate larceny from a vehicle on Beakes Road.
11:46 a.m. Police respond to a minor two-car motor vehicle accident in a parking lot on Route 32.
1:44 p.m. Police respond to a domestic dispute involving parents and their 18-year-old daughter.
6:59 p.m. Police investigate a report of two CD players, Cds and a knapsack taken from an automobile parked overnight on DiMicelli Street.
8:39 p.m. Police investigate a report of a face plate missing from a radio in a vehicle parked on Clara Avenue.
Sunday, March 2
12:41 p.m. Police advise subjects in a vehicle in Town Park that the park is closed after sunset.
8:25 a.m. Police charge a 16-year-old male with a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief in connection with a damaged mailbox on Beakes Road.
10:30 a.m. Police investigate a report of cash and registration papers stolen from a car parked overnight on DiMicelli Street.
2:55 p.m. Police respond to a report of a mental health patient who jumped out of a moving ambulance near Cornwall hospital. The subject is located and returned to the hospital.
Comments:
I respect law enforcement, but ticketing and towing cars at 3:30am??? I know there hasn't been much OT for the town this year but couldn't they have waited a few more hours and have people more their cars in the morning??
