A fire at a home on Long Hill Road in Cornwall at midday on Wednesday left one man dead and a family homeless.
The blaze killed David Jessup and destroyed the home, where David lived with his wife, Eloisa, and two children..
Cornwall police chief Todd Hazard said that Jessup was identified by personal items and by someone who knew him. Hazard also said that the fire department had called in the Orange County Fire Investigation unit to look into the cause of the blaze.
